The girl next door or an emblematic mallu girl with all the usual Kerala girls’ activity deposits, were the definitions given to the present epoch Super Hot n Super Cool actress Remya Nambeeshan. Back in her normal girly days, she was busy hovering around her dance and music educators soliciting to teach her the best lessons. And this spirit and guts made her the tinsel town’s little princess. Remya, who has always made us stand dumbstruck with her unique surprise factors, shares her unique film journey experience with the unique times:

Q: What surprise can we expect from Remya from her upcoming Malayalam flick “the bachelors party”?

A: For me what counts is the scope of a character. If I find that surprise element which I can give my audience in a particular character, I won’t think twice for taking it up. Bachelor’s party is one such experiment I would say. Just like ‘traffic’ and ‘chaapa kurish’, it will definitely have exclusivity, but my character is totally unlike the ones I have done earlier. Be it stones or roses, I am ready to accept it.

Q: Your name is well plated in all the ‘WOODS’ in South India. Where and how are we going to watch Remya in 2012?

A: I am over and done with doing all my works for 2012. Bachelor’s party and husbands in Goa will have my contributions to mollywood. In tollywood, ‘Salaamath’ is going to be my next release. A luminous group of young and aspiring talented artists have joined hands in a Tamil flick ‘PIZZA’ and that would be my this year’s kollywood release. Wait and Watch

Q: How did you come into into the Singing side of the industry?

A: It all began a year ago when I was attending a reality show as a guest judge. That day Music Director Sharath sir came to know that I am passionate about music. A time came when he wanted a fresh voice with a unique temper for his folk track in the film “Ivan megharoopan”. He says my name came to his mind first as he remembered the day we talked about music. The feedback was amazing. Almost all the industry people rang me up to convey their appreciation and I finally felt like I am at the pink of the hell. After that sang two more songs – one for “bachelor party” and the other for “thattathin marayathu”.

Q: You can be well compared and called as the ‘Mollywood Vidya Balan” as you try out the sides which many artists thought were impossible. Would you dare to do a movie like Dirty Picture?

A: I would definitely consider such a brave script. But to commit it or not, that decision can be taken thinking about the circumstances and the situation. I never say a ‘NO’ until unless I have a solid and genuine reason to say.

Q: Will you go for a plump make over as the size zero trends are replaced by the curvy one?

A: I would prefer ‘setting’ a trend rather than ‘imitating’ it. I will not choose to go for something which doesn’t make me contented and which doesn’t suit me. The way I look now and the way I will appear in the future have got nothing to do with the sparkling trends of the time.

Q: What is that one particular thing which drives Remya crazy?

A: ‘Music Music Music’. I am unbelievably passionate about music. For me it varies from time to time. Classical to fusion to jazz to rock. Anything would do. My dream is to end up as a singing actress.

Q: Are you a travel freak?

A: As I work for the whole South Indian Film Industry, I get to travel a lot. I was not a travel freak before. But I think this amazingly freaky industry would turn me into a travel freak soon. Nowadays, when I sit alone during my free time, I have even started thinking about touring even to the wildest places on earth.

Q: Which place in your opinion is the best shopping hub in India?

A: That would definitely be Chennai. When my costume flavor and sanity is considered, Chennai gives me everything I want and I know many fabulous shopping outlets there.

Q: How is Remya Nambeeshan when she takes the veil of a sensuous actress?

A: I am kind of a chill out person who does not want any tension bundle to hang on to my shoulder. I was equally busy even before I became an actress, with all the school and youth fest activities. So I know very well how to manage both my personal and professional life.

Q: Are you ready to share your ‘Success Mantra’ with the readers?

Ans: Why not? I haven’t woven any success fabric of my own. Think positive. Do not spend time digging out the negatives of a particular thing. Try to see its positive side and go bravely for it. For certain things, we might a good amount of mettle. Gain that guts and move on.

You wake up one morning, and what do you find when you look in the mirror? A slight hint on your skin of an emerging pimple, or a zit, maybe your skin is too oily, or too dry, your skin is just simply irritated, you have crow’s feet under your eyes, or what seems to be the worst of all possibilities, ta-ta-da Mr. or respectfully Miss. Wrinkles have started appearing right on your forehead. These are the common everyday problems that not only girls face but guys as well despite the age. Once you reach the teenage years from then it seems like you’re facing an eternity of pimples, zits, oily faces, dry skin and all the skin problems that may exist. You try several different types of face wash, go to a dermatologist, try the products that seem to have only herbal ingredients yet nothing seems to work or they work for a while, then the problems start again or new problems arises. Finally you sink to desperate measures when you can’t seem to escape, and you take that foundation or powder and cover up whatever is popping up on your face. You just want to be perfect, be like the girl in the magazine, or the macho looking guy with the glistening skin on TV, but you can’t find a way. Well pull yourself out from the loads of makeup, the face washes, the zit creams and listen the secret to the perfect skin is . . . not really a secret. Three simple factors play into keeping your skin glowing and healthy, it’s just in the way that you take care of yourself mentally, emotionally and most important physically that helps you keep a clear and perfect skin.

Factor number one when you are not mentally unstable, where you are distracted by work, school, family and friends, a million thoughts and unsolvable dilemmas run through your head like morning news’ headlines, know that it shows on your face like the blue sky on a sunny day. It’s a downer, but it’s the truth. Then there’s the emotional part of it, it’s a no brainer, when you are cranky or simply feeling blue and a frown appears on your face, it comes with a BEAWARE sign. These frowns and worry lines on your face are some of the main contributors to the additional wrinkles that will eventually start appearing on your face later on as you age. So turn that frown upside down. Now though last, the limelight obviously needs to be shed onto this one, the physical aspects which reason into keeping your skin perfect. When you are physically healthy meaning daily exercise along with eating healthy and delicious food on a timely basis, half of your problems will disappear because always keep in mind you are what you eat. So with these three factors in mind how should you go on about your way to obtaining your dream of the perfect skin minus all the products with the names of ingredients which seems impossible to pronounce for anyone?

Well here is key to the much sought after treasure…

Drink Lots and Lots of Water -the rule is that an individual should drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. It’s not just a measure of hydrating yourself but it also washes out the toxins from your organs and helps to provide the cells in your body nutrients. These toxins include hormones that trigger the acne that appear your face.

Avoid Oily and Greasy Foods- this does not mean you have to stop eating oily or greasy foods, but limit yourself to an extreme level because it causes a particular chemical named sebum to increase in your body which causes acne.

Have Your Daily Fruits and Veggies- Remember an apple a day keeps the doctor away, though its mainly intended towards keeping your teeth healthy, it also helps with your skin, always remember have you daily fruits and veggies. Especially the green vegetables just think about achieving the perfect skin and you’ll learn to eat it.

Have Food Containing Omega 3 Acids- omega 3 acids . . . you might be wondering what in the world?? Well omega 3 is an acid that can be found in foods like flax seeds, cauliflower, mainly fish, cabbage, cooked soybeans, and mustard seeds that can help dry and itchy skin.

Have Foods Containing Antioxidants- Antioxidants is your defense mechanism for fighting a splurge of wrinkles, so binge out on fruits like different berries (which contain the highest level of antioxidants), apples, oranges, plums, and red grapes!

Avoid washing your face too much- Washing your face too much can make your skin too dry, so wash your face at least once or twice daily, because your skin needs at least a little oil to be kept moist.

Exercise daily- Even if it’s just for 20 or 30 minutes a day exercise daily, when you sweat it’s good for your skin, due to the fact that it opens up your pores and cleanses it. The more perspire the better . . . just remember to take a cold shower afterwards, you don’t want to drive anyone away with your after workout odor.

Avoid make-up- Your setting yourself on the highway to looking more aged than you really are on this one. Make-up does not better your skin, only for the time you have it on does it make your skin look pretty, that is if you look from afar. . .

Avoid Using Facial Products With Names of Ingredient That are Impossible to Pronounce- If you can’t say it then don’t use it, half of the names of the ingredients involved in making the creams to prevent various types of skin problems is gibberish so how do you know all these manmade chemicals will help your skin?

Varanasi is one of the major cities of Uttar Pradesh and is located in the northern part of India. It is locally called Banaras and is also known as Kashi. There is a considerable number of sightseeing spots in this city. Tourist Attractions in Varanasi offers authentic information on the places of tourist interests in Varanasi.

Being an important Hindu pilgrimage center, Varanasi attracts a large number of people from all over the world. For centuries, Varanasi is associated not only with Hinduism but also with Buddhism and Jainism. Besides numerous temples, Varanasi also boasts of Buddhist Stupas and Jain temples. Varanasi is also a mirror of the age-old Indian civilization. Often referred to as Benares, Varanasi is the oldest living city in the world. These few lines by Mark Twain say it all: “Benaras is older than history, older than tradition, older even than legend and looks twice as old as all of them put together”. Hindus believe that one who is graced to die on the land of Varanasi would attain salvation and freedom from the cycle of birth and re-birth. Abode of Lord Shiva and Parvati, the origins of Varanasi are yet unknown. Ganges in Varanasi is believed to have the power to wash away the sins of mortals.

With a number of temples, Mrs. Annie Besant chose Varanasi as the home for her ‘Theosophical Society’ and Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, to institute ‘Benares Hindu University, the biggest University in Asia. Ayurveda is said to be originated at Varanasi and is believed to be the basis of modern medical sciences such as Plastic surgery, Cataract and Calculus operations. Maharshi Patanjali, the preceptor of Ayurveda and Yoga, was also affiliated with Varanasi, the holy city. Varanasi is also famous for its trade and commerce, especially for the finest silks and gold and silver brocades, since the early days.

Honored authors such as the ever-famous novelist Prem Chand and Tulsi Das, the famous saint-poet who wrote Ram Charit Manas. Aptly called as the cultural capital of India, Varanasi has provided the right platform for all cultural activities to flourish. Many exponents of dance and music have come from Varanasi. Ravi Shankar, the internationally renowned Sitar maestro and Ustad Bismillah Khan, (the famous Shehnai player) are all sons of the blessed city or have lived here for major part of their lives.

HOW TO REACH :-

By Air – The Airport at Babatpur is just 22 kilometer away from the city. Varanasi is well- connected by regular service of flights with some major cities like Delhi, Mumbai (Bombay), Kolkata (Calcutta), Bhubaneswar, Lucknow, Jaipur, Khajuraho, Katmandu.

By Road – Regular bus services can be availed from Varanasi to Jaunpur, Allahabad, Lucknow, Faizabad and Gorakhpur. One can also go to all the major cities by road.

By Rail – The city is connected by super fast trains to Delhi and all the major cities across the country like Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Lucknow, Allahabad, Patna, Jaipur, Gorakhpur and Khajuraho.

To make that practical, a health friendly lifestyle is essential. The ideal route for achieving this is to respect the Ayurveda principles and to live according to them.

The following are some of the vital daily routines to be practiced as suggested by Ayurveda masters. The practical solution is to read what the masters have said and then organize life based on your individual situation. Daily routine means adopting a disciplined lifestyle that promotes good health. Depending on the land and the community where you live, your daily routine is bound to differ.

Wake up by about 4:30 am before sunrise. Say a word of thanks to God, focus on your bodily functions and the duties you have to undertake on the day. Be sensitive. Has the food consumed the previous day digested properly? Was the sleep enough to give you energy for the day? Moreover be aware of the priorities for the day. Now visualize a positive outcome to all the challenges ahead for the day. Now attend to bodily functions like urination and bowel movement. If you observe your punctuality in the intake of food, the above functions should be smooth. Bowel movement is prompted by a combination of habit, punctuality and a congenial atmosphere. Defecation has to take place in such a manner that the surrounding air, water or soil are not contaminated. This is a basic rule to be observed to prevent the spreading of many diseases. Washing with clean water is also important. The next step is to clean the teeth. Burned rice husk mixed with salt is good for the teeth. You may use the crushed tip of a Neem stick as a tooth brush. It is a good habit to practice cleaning of the tongue also. A clean tongue helps with clear pronunciation and improves the sense of taste. Teeth should be cleaned in the morning and at night after dinner. Rinse mouth and clean face with only fresh clean water. It could be surprising to know that many diseases are caused due to unhealthy oral hygiene. Early morning coffee or tea should not be taken without cleaning teeth. If you pay attention to small health and hygiene details like these, you can avoid major health setbacks.

The next daily routine is exercise. Exercise is important for all; and it should be of prime importance if you are leading a sedentary life. The amount of exercise depends on the physical condition of each individual. Physical activity should not become an excessive strain on the body. People who are unable to find time to exercise in the morning can do so even in the evening time. Ayurveda system recommends oiling the body before exercising. The beautiful body of the ‘Asuras’ is believed to be due to their regular exercise routine after oiling their body. Regular oil application maintains the tone and complexion of the skin while keeping it wrinkle-free. It also strengthens the nerves. For best results oil your head, ears and feet. This provides a deep sleep, improves eye sight and maintains good hearing sense. You need to oil the entire body only twice a week. If you visit a shop carrying Ayurveda products you can purchase oils that are ideal for your particular body type. The composition and ingredients in the oil vary, and an expert can suggest the correct one based on your body type. A good bath cleans the body well and you feel good. Otherwise sweat and dirt builds up on the skin and creates a potentially unhealthy breeding ground for bacteria and viruses. If you are constrained for time in the morning, you may take your bath at night before food. Make sure that the bathrooms are clean. If you are taking bath in the river or pond make sure that the water and the banks are clean. If you are sick, bathing should be as per the instruction of your doctor. When choosing soap, make sure that it is balanced for acidity or harshness on the skin.

In Kerala it has been a tradition to use powders like Rasnaadhichoornam, Kachooradhichoornam, Ash etc. on the head after bath. After bath wear only clean clothes which are made out of pure cotton. What is worn during the day should be changed and fresh clothes be worn after returning home. Clothes define an attitude. So you should be comfortable with what you wear both physically and mentally.

Sandals & Umbrella.

During summer season sandals and umbrellas must be used. This gives protection from rain and heat. Walking barefoot on clean grass and sand are good for the eye.

Food

When hungry eat nutritious food as per your digestion allows. According to the masters eat 2times a day, clear your bowels 2times a day and urinate 6 times a day to achieve proper health. Get rest after taking food. It is also ideal that you take your food before sunset, after bath and changing into fresh clothes. At night if you get thirsty, water boiled with dried ginger and cumin seeds could be taken. If you avoid food at night you will get quality sleep. This will also help you to follow through your daily routine with ease even before sunrise.

As you can see, these are simple and basic health principles. The key is to be consistent and take it as a personal challenge to make this a routine in your life. If you do this , your body will forever be thankful to you!

Interior design is a science that deals with various yet related projects that involve turning an interior space into an effective setting for the range of human activities. It is also the art of transferring one’s mind to a living space. Generally the interiors directly reflect the personality, mood, behavioral patterns and tastes of the respective individual or family group.
A home can be called as the shadow of heaven on earth making us feel secure and comfortable. That’s why it has always been a dream of every man to own a house. Today a house is not just about its frames and walls but about its interiors as well which has laid a heavy emphasis on designing its interiors. Hence Interior designing is no more an armature venture but a very serious profession.
Considering it as the dream of every man to own a house, the interior is the grand culmination of the dream. Few have the mercy of owning more than a house but for many it is a onetime effort and hence most of these men are apprehensive of this grand culmination. The design, layout, choice of materials, costing factors, finishes, quality, demand for skilled workmanship, procurements are few of the tasks that can be taxing. It is here precisely that the services of an interior designer will be of much use.
It might not be the most sought after profession of today but to be a designer you’ve got to be an artist and a dreamer apart from all other skills. Typically a designer is the defining point of every man’s dream and empathizes with him. Hence it requires understanding every need of the client and transferring them effectively to the living space.
Designing is also about the right balance. It is about understanding the needs of the client and not the needs of the designer. Likewise it is about educating the client in areas of ignorance. Complying with the balance can surely make the client and in turn the whole family happy and any deviation from the same will have a reciprocating effect. Interior designing is a service provider industry with the involvement of a lot of agencies and vendors and project scheduling can be a major challenge unless planned well.
For an interior designer nothing more exciting than spatial transformation be it be planning, designing or executing of new homes, renovations, interiors. The emphasis on quality, cost, deadlines and customer satisfaction can be called our strength.

Q: I am 20 years old and my teeth are slightly yellowish some of my friends are suggesting bleaching. Is there any problem in bleaching my teeth? Can you please explain me the process of tooth whitening? Is there a permanent solution for making teeth whiter?

A: First of all if it is only slightly yellowish and if you are a fair complexioned person you should not make your teeth whiter because that will look very artificial. Bleaching is a good option for whitening teeth. The teeth are whitened using two types of bleaching techniques

1: Home Bleach. Where the dentist makes a tray or a plastic mould the bleaching gel solution is then powered into the tray and placed in the mouth overnight for 6 to 10 nights by the patient.

2: In office bleach. The professional bleaching gel is more powerful and has to be guarded from the gums and the offer oral soft tissues using special chemical barriers. The bleaching gel is then applied to the teeth and the process is activated by a high intensity light. Some dentists use laser to activate the gel and hence there is a better and faster penetration of the gel into the teeth.

Both the bleaching procedures cause micro-pores on the enamel surfaces and pumps fresh oxygen into the pores to make the teeth whiter. The processes may have to be repeated after an interval of 6 months to 2 years as the teeth might get darker by the use of coloured foods. The major disadvantage is the sensitivity of teeth when repeated bleaching is done or if the process is not done meticulously.

The permanent solution for dark and discoloured teeth is to do veneers or laminates on the surface of teeth. The process is done in two visits and the results achieved is permanent but it is expensive than bleaching.

Q: I underwent braces treatment three years back but the front teeth comes forward if I don’t wear the retainers every day. There are no gaps between teeth at the tip but near the gums spaces are present. I am 22 years old and I don’t want to put braces once again Please suggest some other plans to correct my condition.

A: If the retainers are not worn regularly for the total retention period the teeth will not stay at the corrected position. But if the retention period is over and still the teeth are moving forward that means the teeth are not in a stable occlusion/bite. Please do not use th retainers to move it back and then leave it to come forward but rather leave the teeth to move to a stable position and then a specialist can correct the appearance by using different aesthetic enhancement techniques. The spaces near the gums also can be corrected by partial veneering of the teeth.

How can I get rid of dark circles?

Here are some natural remedies for dark circles under the eyes: one is bananas— the potassium helps eliminate circles under your eyes; the second is by using real lemon juice and honey—it’s a natural lightener as well. Mix one tablespoon of lemon with four teaspoons of honey. Smooth on dark spots or under eyes, wait 15 minutes, and rinse clean. Please be sure to wear sunscreen.

I keep getting blackheads on my nose. I have tried everything, but they keep coming back. What can I do?

Check your eating habits and increase your intake of fresh foods. Equally important is reassessing your digestion process. It is important to finish eating dinner two hours before sleeping. Consult your family physician and take a blood purifier Tonic regularly. You can treat blackheads in this manner: To oxygenate the area and encourage drainage, prepare a cup of hot water and a cup of ice cold water. Starting with the hot water, dip your nose in it for three minutes followed by one minute in the ice cold water. Alternate the hot and cold water for 15 minutes, finishing with the hot water. Then, lie down for 15 minutes with a cotton cloth covering the area. Repeat this cycle twice daily, for a week. Also regular use of a Face scrub if you have an oily skin helps. Keep your skin scrupulously clean.

I am a 20 year old boy. I suffer from grey hair and dandruff. I have tried most of hair oils available in the market with no result.

Grey hair is hereditary in some cases. There is no proper treatment for grey hair, except good diet and keeping your scalp clean and free from dandruff helps. You should try and get rid of dandruff, which is not always helped by oil alone. Stimulation of scalp while massaging should get natural oil secretion increased. Add 1 tbsp medicated oil or use unscented oil like almond or olive. After applying oil, wrap your head in a hot towel (soak the towel in hot water and squeeze water out) for 20 minutes. Before washing, apply a paste of curds and 1 tsp of oil for another half an hour. If the problem persists, see a dermatologist before trying anything else.
